From PUBG to PowerPoint How Real Life Hit Me Hard
It’s not even something extraordinary, I simply hate the work I’m doing. The problem rarely lies in the nature of the job itself, it usually stems from the people. It’s people who turn perfectly decent workplaces into living hell. Otherwise, you’ll still find offices out there where working feels like camping in peaceful hills.
Half of the population is busy spending their youth preparing for government jobs in India, while the rest people like me had to step out into the real world the moment they realized playing PUBG Mobile won’t feed them. There’s no shortage of work in the market. What’s lacking is people willing to embrace the modern day slavery model. leave early in the morning, return home late at night, and earn a salary so pathetic that you’re basically handed one MRF share as your annual CTC (MRF Share price – 147500 still higher than what some company offers to fresher today ) What more could a fresher ask for, right? (I’m talking about my city here your experience may vary)
It took me four years, and I still earn just enough that if I were to buy a Splendor Plus, I would have to walk to the office for three months and survive on just the office’s tea and water.
And on top of that, I don’t understand who told companies that salary hikes should be tied to your previous CTC. Let us say your budget is ₹12 LPA, and the candidate has all the skills you need if their current CTC is ₹4 LPA, why would you only offer a 30% hike, Where is the respect for their skills and experience, At least offer ₹12 LPA and show that talent matters more than salary history. HR who exactly are you trying to impress by saving a company a few lakhs? Remember, someday even you will be forced to switch jobs due to low growth think about that too please.
As for work culture that’s not getting fixed anytime soon. First, they will make all these rules about what not to do. Then the moment pressure comes from the top, those same rules will be the first thing they violate. Suddenly, they’ll expect you to do everything even what should absolutely never be done. And later, when accountability is demanded, these very people who barked orders will be the first to back off and wash their hands of it.
Now you might ask, what’s the point of this entire rant? Well, there’s no point really I’m just completely frustrated with my job. That’s it. And that’s the whole damn story.
