OPPO F31 Series Launched in India
The OPPO F31 Series just dropped in India, but honestly? These prices are absolutely bonkers! Let’s get real about what OPPO is trying to pull here…
The OPPO F31 series comes with three variants – F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+ and while they promise to be your “durable companion,” the pricing makes me wonder if OPPO thinks we’re all millionaires. That massive 7000mAh battery across all three models is impressive, but it doesn’t justify these ridiculous price tags.
The Only Thing That Makes Sense
All three phones rock AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates, which is genuinely good for this segment. The F31 and F31 Pro get 6.5-inch panels while the Pro+ stretches to 6.79 inches. At least OPPO didn’t cheap out here – even the base F31 gets the same smooth scrolling experience. The displays handle up to 1400/1600/1600 nits peak brightness, so outdoor visibility won’t be an issue.

Highway Robbery in Action
Here’s where OPPO completely lost the plot. The base F31 (that to 8GB+128GB, UFS 2.2) at ₹22,999 runs on MediaTek Dimensity 6300 – a chip you can get in phones costing ₹12000-14000! Look at the competition: Oppo K13x 5G with the same Dimensity 6300 costs just ₹11999. iQOO Z10 Lite with identical specs is priced at ₹9998. Samsung Galaxy F16 5G with better Exynos 1330 costs ₹14499.
The F31 Pro with Dimensity 7300 Energy at ₹26999 is equally ridiculous when Lava Play Ultra 5G offers the same Dimensity 7300 at ₹14998. That’s a ₹12000 premium for what? The OPPO logo?
The Pro+ with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 at ₹32999 is the only one that’s somewhat reasonably priced, but even then, you’re paying a premium for mid-tier performance.
That Pathetic 2MP Strikes Again
All three phones feature a 50MP main camera with OIS (genuinely good but only on Pro and Pro +), but then OPPO ruins it with that useless 2MP “monochrome” sensor. Seriously, why are we still doing this in 2025? These 2MP sensors are absolutely worthless – they produce blurry, low-resolution garbage that’s only good for making the spec sheet look better.
Tech guys have been complaining about 2MP macro and depth sensors for years because you can get a better result using the main camera with manual focus and then cropping. Why not just give us a proper ultrawide or telephoto instead of this 2MP nonsense that nobody uses?

The Usual OPPO Disappointment
Here’s another gut punch – OPPO’s software update policy is still mediocre. The F31 series gets just 2 years of Android OS updates and 3 years of security patches. Compare this to Samsung giving 4-7 years of updates or Google’s 7-year commitment, and OPPO looks pathetic.
For a phone you’re paying ₹23000-35000 for, getting only 2 Android updates is insulting. Your expensive phone will be outdated faster than a budget Samsung Galaxy A/M/F-series device that gets better long-term support.
The Real MVP vs The Pricing Reality
That 7000mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC charging is genuinely impressive. It charges 58% in 30 minutes, which is great for heavy users. The durability features – IP66/68/69 ratings, MIL-STD-810H certification – are real and useful for Indian conditions.

But here’s the brutal truth: these features don’t justify the Inflated/Hefty pricing.
Pricing: Complete Market Disconnect
- F31: ₹22999 for base variant (should be 15000 max)
- F31 Pro: ₹26999 for base variant (should be 18000 max)
- F31 Pro+: ₹32999 for base variant (should be 25000 max)
When phones with identical or better specs cost ₹10000-12000 less, OPPO’s pricing strategy looks like a bad joke. The Dimensity 6300 in phones under ₹15000 makes the F31’s ₹23000 price tag absolutely ridiculous.
The Brutal Verdict: Skip This Overpriced Mess
The OPPO F31 series feels like OPPO is testing how much they can overcharge loyal customers. Yes, the 7000mAh battery and durability features are good, but they’re not ₹10000-15000 premium good.
My honest recommendation? Skip all three variants.
- Want Dimensity 6300? Get the iQOO Z10 Lite at ₹9998
- Want better build? Samsung Galaxy F16 5G at ₹14499 gives you AMOLED + better processor
- Want flagship performance? OnePlus Nord 4 at ₹30000 destroys the F31 Pro+ in every aspect
OPPO has created decent phones but priced them like premium flagships. Until they slash these prices by ₹7000-10000, the F31 series remains a hard pass. Your money deserves better value than this overpriced experiment.
The only scenario where these make sense? If you absolutely must have that 7000mAh battery and money isn’t a concern. For 99% of buyers, better alternatives exist at much lower prices.
Why Not
- Overpriced relative to competition: base F31’s Dimensity 6300 found in ₹12-15 K phones makes its ₹22999 price unjustifiable
- Useless 2 MP depth sensor adds no real value – better to have ultrawide or telephoto instead
- Mediocre software support: only 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security patches
- RAM & storage capped at LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2/3.1 – no next-gen memory options
Verdict
The OPPO F31 series packs flagship-style batteries, durability, and smooth AMOLED screens into a well-built chassis. However, inflated pricing for entry-level hardware, lackluster cameras, and weak update promises undermine the value proposition. Unless you absolutely need a 7000 mAh battery and military-grade toughness, there are far better mid-range alternatives available at much lower prices. OPPO must slash ₹7-10k off these models to make them truly compelling.
